I finally found a use for Twitter which combines my love for knocking headline ideas around.
Basically, I get a headline idea which I think worthy of the Twitter mosh pit and I throw it in. If I get feedback great, if not, the headline needs serious work. Even is the response is, â€oeDude, youâ€re a real weirdo coming up with that”, itâ€s all good because for a headline to invoke response is great, even revulsion is fine as long as curiosity is piqued."

From the page: "Writing headlines is not only essential to writing remarkable linkbait, itâ€s essential for writing attractive blog posts.
I donâ€t think headline writing is a dark art in the sense that some people can do it and some people canâ€t. Everyone can do it, as long as you pay your dues and learn how to do it.
A headline is about getting attention."

From the page: "This is the second post in a series on the â€Simple Web†philosophy I subscribe to. Itâ€s a philosophy of completing only the actions that grow your site and cutting out those that donâ€t. Youâ€ll get the most out of this post by reading the introduction to the series.
If your site â€" and I use this to mean blog or website â€" isnâ€t gripping, readers arenâ€t going to engage with your content. If they donâ€t engage with your content, theyâ€ll forget about you.
If your site isnâ€t gripping, your other actions are wasted. Your articles might be top-notch, but if few visitors are gripped enough to read them from start to finish, youâ€ll never see the rewards those articles deserve. I donâ€t mean to sound dire, but a failure to â€grip†readers is something I often see crippling otherwise excellent sites."

From the page: "Link Bait (and Diggbait) Masters are ritual keepers of the viral hyperbolic title. Iâ€ve stumbled across a post, 65 Headlines to Jump Start your Linkbait, that pokes fun at stimulating titles but actually explores a serious topic. Composing hot titles that engage audiences immediately (and appropriately) benefits most genres of writing for marketeurs. Here are some fun examples from the post:"
